Salon Classique is a chamber music group and organization founded and directed by violinist and music narrator Karsten Windt. Outstanding Bay Area musicians present masterworks and hidden gems of chamber music in intimate settings. The series features lively and informative introductions by Windt, providing examples of the music and interesting background information prior to a performance. The mission of Salon Classique is to make classical music more enjoyable and accessible. Small venues are favored over traditional concert halls in order to establish a close relationship between the artists and the audience. Today's concert celebrates the opening of the special exhibition Intimate Impressionism from the National Gallery of Art.

Chamber Music at the Legion is a free concert series presented in collaboration with the San Francisco Friends of Chamber Music. Now in its fifth season, this popular chamber music series is presented on one weekend day of each month from February to July. Join us in celebrating the Legion’s restored period room, the Salon Doré from the Hôtel de La Trémoille and the special exhibition Intimate Impressionism from the National Gallery of Art.

  • Vinaccesi Ensemble, April 5
  • Mobius Trio, May 4
  • Farallon Quintet,  June 1
