Laura Dowling is chief floral designer at the White House, a position she assumed in October 2009. In this position, she manages decor and flowers for a broad range of events, including state dinners, parties, and receptions, as well as creating flowers for the White House state rooms, the East Wing and West Wing offices, and the private residence. She works in the “new garden” style, a romantic style of flower arranging with free-flowing lines of vines and flowers emanating from a classical bouquet.
