Live Music by LoveBomb Go-Go
This event is expired.
The LoveBomb Go-Go Marching Band of Portland, Oregon, are “intergalactic freaks” on a mission to mend, with music, the divisions of civilization, seeking universal equality and striving to reestablish purposefulness for each and every life.
LoveBomb Go-Go is not your typical marching band. They play only original music drawn from many influences, including Balkan brass bands, the second-line street bands of New Orleans, DIY projects from all over the world, and the avant stylings of 1960s and '70s American groups like Parliament Funkadelic and the Sun Ra Arkestra. They are now entering their second year, having in the space of one short year gone from street performance to playing for 13,000 at the World Naked Bike Ride; from Monday night at Burgerville to warming up for Grammy Award winners Rebirth Brass Band; from emerging out of the blue to playing Seattle’s popular Folklife and Bumbershoot festivals.
They have entertained audiences on sidewalks and parade routes, and in clubs and theaters—from the street corner outside Voodoo Doughnut to the Crystal Ballroom, LoveBomb Go-Go Marching Band ignites the love.
