Objects Conservation

Located at the de Young, the Penny and James Coulter Objects Conservation Center provides for the preservation, conservation and scientific study of all three-dimensional works of art in the FAMSF collections, which total more than three-quarters of the collections out on permanent display. Working with such diverse collections, the conservators must have a strong understanding of a wide range of materials and techniques as well as an awareness of culturally sensitive issues specific to each object.

Objects Conservation is staffed by Head Objects Conservator Lesley Bone and Associate Objects Conservator Catherine Coueignoux.
