Wooden Boat Day is presented by the Arques School of Traditional Boatbuilding and the Spaulding Wooden Boat Center.

  • Live American Folkloric Sailing Music
  • Hands-on Art Making for Families: Assemble and Sail your Own Wooden Boat, while supplies last, with Andrea Rey and Martin Sweet.

  • Knot-Tying Demonstrations and Workshop: Know your Knots! by Jon Pogorelskin, cartoonist and knot-tying expert

  • Storytelling by Carla Steinberg, poet, storyteller, and literature professor

  • Guest Lecture: The Pursuit of Grace:  My Life with Wooden Boats, by Robert Darr, director and head instructor and the Arques School of Traditional Boatbuilding. Mr. Darr’s talk was created in conjunction with photographer Scott Wall.
