April 6, 2019: Launching Free Saturdays

Join us from 10 am–5 pm at your city museum

On April 6, the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco’s launch Free Saturdays!

Every Saturday, San Francisco residents enjoy free general admission to both of the City’s beloved museums, the Legion of Honor and de Young. Celebrate the launch of this new exciting initiative for locals with live music from San Francisco marching bands and free arts programming.

Join us at the Legion of Honor as we host the music of San Francisco’s Lesbian/Gay Freedom Band. Since 1978, the Freedom Band has been an integral piece of San Francisco history. Join us as this beloved SF band celebrates helps to inaugurate Free Saturday’s for all San Francisco residents at the Legion of Honor! We invite you to participate in outdoor landscape sketching, and, once inside, join curator Kirk Nickels as he discusses the opening of the Early Rubens exhibition. We will host the ever-popular organ concerts on the museum’s massive Skinner Organ, as is our weekly Saturday tradition.

Please be sure to check out our website for future updates about Free Saturdays. We will offer new experiences every week and highlight our local San Francisco talents.
